CNC Sparking

CNC Spark Erosion, also known as Sinker
EDM, consists of an electrode and workpiece submerged in dialectric fluid. As the
electrode nears the workpiece a plasma channel is formed, a spark bridges the gap
and the base metal is vapourised. This creates a 3D inverse image of the electrode
                on the workpiece.

This allows for complex cavities and blind holes to be formed that otherwise could
not be machined by conventional methods.

Our Swiss 5-Axis CNC Spark Erosion facility offers the following :

                - Machining tolerances of up to 0.010mm

                - Vectoring in any direction

                - EDM milling and turning

                - EDM threads and undercuts

                - All types of steels including Inconel, Duplex, Aluminium, Bronze, Carbide and Titanium

Spark Erosion can be used for processes ranging from the simple removal of a broken tap to shafts, stems and sleeves for the oil exploration industry and complex curved impellors.
